Ephesus

On Thursday we went to Ephesus, so we took the bus at school and started our travell.

At first we stopped in an archeological center in which our guide told us that this center was called Ephesus 1.

We ‘explored’ that wonderful place and than we continued our travell to Ephesus.

Ephesus was really big and amazing. We visited it with our guide’s explanations: really interesting!  There we took lots of photos.

Ephesus was an old Lidia’s city, the homeland of the philosophs Eraclito and Artemidoro.

It was a really rich city and it developed spetially during the Ellenistic age.

The most important monuments of this city are:

-the Celso’s bibliothec

-Arthemid’s temple (but we can’t see it anylonger); it was one of the 7 old worldwonders

The city was designed by Ippodamo from Mileto with an urban plan which provide a checkerboard arrangement for the principal streets. It was a really big city with schools theatres, therms.

When we finished our tour we made some shopping to buying souvenirs and than we whent to visit the Virgin Mary’s home where we seen the prayers to Mary from the faithful.

Than we went in a really pretty village to have lunch, we visited a little in small groups and than we went home quite tired but happy for seeing all those wonderful things.
